Description

Climbing annual herb up to 1 m. The leaves are ovate. Flowers are greenish white, in spike like inflorescences. Fruit is a dull black, finely granular nut.

Similar plants

Bindweed (Calystegia sepium) looks similar but the flowers are distinctive.

Distribution

Common in cultivated land and waste places.

Species affected

Rabbits have been poisoned experimentally but no other reported poisonings. Animals are unlikely to eat it under normal conditions.
